Owners
Tex, is hands on both front restaurant & kitchen. He had 20 years experience running a successful Fruit & Veg venture in South Africa before moving to Australia and taking on hospitality. In 2004 Tex went on to win the Manly Regional Barista Championship.
After spending many years in Sports Marketing & a stint with the Executives at Channel 9, Kellie puts her skills to use in the Marketing & PR Department of Karma waters.
With over 10 years experience in the restaurant industry & successfully operating and selling two restaurants in Manly NSW, the couple brought their passion to the Sunshine Coast nearly 6 years ago and opened Karma waters on the busy Esplanade.
In August 2010 Kellie and Tex set up their 5th Restaurant in Maroochydore.They wanted to bring a restaurant to the Coast that enabled customers to connect with their love and passion for Africa.y. Bringing such a high calibre restaurant to Maroochdyore was a dream for the couple who were able to provide expcetional service and cuisine inspired from all over Africa. After 14 months of dedication, the couple decided it was time for new owners to take Mulu Char on it's continued journey as their job of intoducing Afrian Culture & cuisine was copmplte.
Karma waters Restaurant has become a very popular dining spot on Mooloolaba Esplanade. The couple are excited to be back in the restaurant full time and have exciting plans for 2012 which include a refreshened menu, new look and some exciting offers.
Kellie and Tex believe the effective performance of their team is a vital link in the continuing success of Karma waters.

Front Manager
Kelly began her career working in a Pizza restaurant in her home town of Exeter, Devon before moving to the energetic pub scene! Kelly spent the following 2 years learning the ins & outs of a barmaid, waitress, restaurant supervisor and for some period a 2nd Chef!
After gaining such valuable experience, she furthered her career by training with Greene King Pub Co then went on to Manage pubs in Oxford & Bristol. After 5 years, Kelly embarked on her trip to Australia where she enjoys the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.
As Front of House Manager, Kelly supports the owners in their efforts to provide exceptional service. She brightens the day of our customers with her warm and bubbly personality and welcoming smile!

Our Kitchen team at Karma waters Restaurant is full of cheer! Each member has been selected for their skills and temperament and their ability to work together harmoniously.
From various backgrounds, our team has a great deal of experience and bring a variety of talent and ideas to the forefront. They pride themselves in utilising seasonal ingredients to create delicious dishes.
The Portuguese influence brings explosively flavour to our cuisine. Our team have similar passion and work closely to present our customers the highest standards. |
